Jai Baidell is an Australian writer and a lifelong believer in escaping reality through reading. Action, adventure, thrillers, espionage, family dramas, historical mysteries, crime, romance, Jai likes them all. Just no horror or psychological thrillers please, life is frightening enough without them.
Jai writes stories about strong, determined people who fight for what they want and make compromises to overcome obstacles. Jai has published six books in the Bargains and Trades series, stories about lies, deception, compromise and courage set in contemporary Australia. Three novellas and three full length novels explore the world of Stephen Zammit, spy, philanderer and cryptologist, a man with many weaknesses and secrets that hurt his friends and lovers.
Jai has worked in libraries and assorted bureaucracies but her real interests, apart from books, are water, the environment, social justice and equality.
Jai currently lives in country Australia with a husband, a big library of old TV series for binge watching, a slow internet connection and a poorly performing garden that will be getting a serious makeover any day now. Really, any day. Reading or kayaking are much more fun.
Jai shares random thoughts and ideas all over the internet and would love to have a conversation with you. Try one of these:
