Romance is tricky for a spy
Romance is tricky for a spy at the best of times. All that secrecy tends to get in the way. And it's definitely an uphill struggle for Stephen Zammit, working under cover as a teacher at a technical college. He's supposed to be identifying an infiltrator, not falling for one of his own students. Before he knows it, he's in serious trouble with his boss and has to endure an epic reprimand session. And that's not the end of his troubles. What will he do about the lover he already has? And, seriously, can he really marry Joanne now that he's met her appalling mother?
Joanne is everything he's ever wanted, the complete opposite of his too-perfect ex-girlfriend Rachel. Joanne is down-to-earth, willing to fight to keep him, and best of all, has absolutely no connection with the secret world. Stephen makes ruthless choices to secure what he thinks he wants most — the chance for a normal family life. He triumphs, for now, but has he sown the seeds of his own future destruction?
Set in Canberra, Australia’s national capital, and the regional town of Yass, New South Wales.
